Fresh seed pod from the gan dang (red stalk) variety of Kratom found in the Chumpon region of Thailand.
Scientific Name: Mitragyna speciosa v. gan dang (red stalk)
Common name: Kratom
Traditional Names: krathom, kakuam, ithang or thom (Thailand), biak-biak or ketum (Malaysia), and mambog (Philippines).
Traditional Uses: Leaves are chewed to relieve pain as well as to increase energy, appetite and sex drive. Leaves and extracts are commonly used topically to heal wounds and relieve localized pain. Extracts can be used to treat intestinal parasites as well as infections.
